HFAS17 Official Theme:
This years theme for HFAS17, Art for Beauty, invites intentional rumination on what Black People across the diaspora have been tasked to produce and create in order to be considered Beautiful, Worthy, and Valuable by the world around us.
Our theme seeks not only to separate the accomplishments and talents of the Black Community from this systematically prejudiced exchange, but also to remind the world that all people are inherently Beautiful, Worthy, and Valuable, with or without contribution or performance.
It is our fervent hope that HFAS17 will become a celebration of the inalienable capacity of Black Artists, Activists, and Community Leaders, and of all mankind.
