Harlem Hospital Center, in partnership with Community Works/New Heritage Theatre Group, is proud to announce the opening of a permanent exhibition honoring the rich history of music, theater, and dance in Harlem. This dynamic multimedia installation, located on the second floor of the hospital, offers a captivating exploration of the individuals and institutions that have shaped this iconic neighborhood’s cultural identity.

A Tribute to Harlem’s Artistic Heritage

The exhibition showcases a diverse range of influential figures, from renowned musicians like Max Roach and Doug E. Fresh to celebrated theater professionals such as Woodie King Jr. and Voza Rivers. Visitors will gain insights into the profound impact of organizations like the Apollo Theater, the Harlem School of the Arts, and the National Black Theatre, which have nurtured generations of artistic talent.
