Celebrating Black History Month: ACHIEVE Art Presentation Showcased by Harlem Fine Arts Show
In honor of Black History Month, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene – City of New York, in collaboration with ACHIEVE (the DOHMH African American/Black Employee Resource Group), recently hosted a remarkable art presentation curated by the renowned Harlem Fine Arts Show (HFAS). This event, held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, brought together esteemed individuals and artists to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and artistic contributions of the African American community.
Led by Dion Clarke, Founder of HFAS, and Ulysses Williams, Executive Director of ArtCrawl Harlem and Founder of Access Black Art, the event was a testament to the power of art in fostering cultural understanding and unity. Artists Monique Young and Robert Newman showcased their exceptional talent, offering a glimpse into the diversity and creativity within the African American art scene.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Xavier Bost, Admin Manager of Race to Justice and Chair of ACHIEVE, for her invaluable support and dedication in making this event a success. Her tireless efforts in championing diversity and inclusion within the DOHMH community are truly commendable.
